Belvedere is a public plaza on the Ohio River in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, opened in 1973 on an elevated deck above the city's riverfront. The City of Louisville appointed Heatherwick Studio, its first project in Kentucky, to redesign it as a multi-use public space, a living room for the city.
The design centres on a ribbon-like pavilion made of many slender light poles gathered into a half-shell, with a looping path, new trees and shade, a fountain and sculptures. It is intended to reconnect the park with the city and the river and to host everyday use as well as large events.
Estudio Nod produced the architectural visualisation for Heatherwick Studio: renders and animations that present the park and its pavilion, plus a marketing pack. For each approved image we also created a closer companion image and a short vertical video (9:16), all with the same atmosphere, narrative and visual quality.
